Red Velvet (레드벨벳)은 SM엔터테인먼트에 소속된 5인조 걸그룹으로 강렬하고 매혹적인 '레드'와 여성스럽고 부드러운 '벨벳'의 이미지에서 연상되듯, 색깔 있고 세련된 음악과 퍼포먼스로 전 세계를 매료시키겠다는 의미를 담고 있다. 2014년 첫 싱글 '행복(Happiness)'으로 데뷔한 그룹은 데뷔 2주 만에 음악방송 정상에 올랐고, S.E.S의 원작을 커버한 'Be Natural' 마저 정상권에 올리며 가요계를 이끌 특급 신인으로 주목받았다.
이어 'Ice Cream Cake', 'Dumb Dumb', 'Russian Roulette', 'Rookie', '빨간 맛' 등의 히트곡을 쏟아내 팬덤을 넘어 대중적으로 큰 사랑을 받으며 대표 걸그룹으로 자리매김했다. 2017년 정규 2집 의 타이틀곡 '피카부'로 현 세대의 쿨한 사랑 방식을 업 템포 넘버로 표현하기도 했으며 이듬해 의 타이틀곡 'Bad Boy'는 리패키지 앨범임에도 오랜 시간 차트 상위권에 랭크되며 유튜브 2억 뷰를 달성했다.
이후 활발한 활동을 보여준 레드벨벳은 The ReVe Festival이라는 타이틀 아래 펼친 활동을 총망라하는 리패키지 앨범 을 발매, 타이틀곡 'Psycho'로 다시 한번 차트 정상에 올랐다. 2022년에는 EP 과 를 발표해 다채로운 매력을 담아냈으며, 첫 일본 정규 앨범 으로 활동 영역을 넓히기도 했다.
이듬해 정규작 을 공개, 레드벨벳만이 소화할 수 있는 유니크한 콘셉트와 음악 색깔을 높은 완성도로 담아냈으며, 2024년 6월, 데뷔 10주년을 맞이한 그룹은 미니 앨범 을 통해 이전과는 색다른 스타일의 6곡과 팬송인 'Sweet Dreams'까지 내놓으며 여름을 마무리 지었다.
