William Youn (1982, Seoul ) is a Korean pianist.

Youn (real name Hong-Chun Youn) started playing the piano when he was six years old. At the age of eleven he made his debut with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. When he was thirteen, he was admitted to the preparatory school of the New England Conservatory and the Walnut Hill School in Boston . When he turned eighteen in 2000, he went to study in Hanover , with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and later with Bernd Goetzke. In 2006, after obtaining his master's degree, he was awarded a scholarship from the International Piano Academy Lake Como, where seven pianists are selected annually from over a thousand applications. He graduated there in 2009 and worked with musicians such as William Grant Naboré, Dmitri Bashkirov, Fou Ts'ong, Andreas Staier, Charles Rosen and Menahem Pressler . He also attended master classes with András Schiff , Christoph Eschenbach and Yo-Yo Ma .
