Martin Kälberer was born on August 7, 1967 in Ulm and received guitar and mandolin lessons at the age of five. The piano was added soon after. Inspired by the television broadcast of a concert by Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock, he began to explore the world of improvised music at the age of ten. In the mid-1980s, Martin Kälberer finally studied piano in the jazz department from the Academy of Music in Graz. .He has been working as a freelance musician since 1989. After long periods dealing with different musical styles, touring with numerous formations from Brazilian music, pop and rock, jazz, musicals to world music and singer-songwriter projects all over Europe (2004 up to China), for Martin Kälberer at some point the search for his own roots, his own tradition becomes more and more important. He began to develop and present his own understanding of the structure, form and aesthetics of the world of music and art.
