Tram des Balkans formed in 2002 as a quartet, and focused first on Klezmer music which they associated to theatre. In 2007, a drummer joined the group and their first album was recorded live one year later.

They experience traditional themes as well as Central- and Eastern-European contemporary compositions. The variety can even be felt in the languages used in the songs, ranging from Czech to Russian through Hebrew. In 2011, the band composed its second album Rubber Man and went further towards Pop'n'Trad.
