Formation of Arakain dates to spring of 1982, when the Arakain's future frontman Aleš Brichta, guitarist Jiří Urban and drummer Miroslav Nedvěd left the band Apad. These were later joined by guitarist Rudolf Rožďálovsky and bass guitarist Olda Maršík. All members were influenced by bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon and other members of new wave of british havey metal.
