Anna Dasha Novotny, known as Dasha, born February 27, 2000, in San Luis Obispo, California, is an American country-pop singer-songwriter. She began performing in musical theater at age 5, learned guitar and piano at 8, and started songwriting, inspired by Dolly Parton, Kacey Musgraves, and Taylor Swift. By 13, she recorded her first song and performed locally.In 2018, she enrolled at Belmont University in Nashville to study songwriting but left in 2020 to pursue music full-time. She released her debut EP, $hiny Things (2021), and her first album, Dirty Blonde (2023), blending pop and R&B. In 2023, her single "Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)" went viral on TikTok, reaching the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and top 10 in several countries. Her 2024 album What Happens Now? solidified her country music presence, with performances at the CMT Music Awards and Grand Ole Opry. In 2025, she released "Oh, Anna" and announced a tour with Kane Brown.Dasha’s style fuses country, pop, and folk, with introspective lyrics and storytelling.
